We decided within 10 minutes that since our plans fell through this weekend...we would spend the weekend upstate and hopefully get out of the 120 degree weather. We left early Friday morning and arrived in Payson, AZ at about 10:30AM. It took a little over an hour to set up but our campsite was amazing! The dogs were able to be off leash due to their fantastic behavior and we had plenty of time to rest and relax for the remainder of the day. It ended up being about 92 degrees in the afternoon but it still beat Phoenix weather!
The day was filled with snacking, walking, and enjoying the silence the woods had to offer. We ended up staying one night and taking the dogs swimming on Saturday. They LOVED it - even Roxii jumped in (which I did not expect).
We took the long way home, adding about 3 hours of driving to our trip but we took advantage of not having anything to do but enjoy each other's company.
