Today was such a wonderful day! All plans went smoothly and we were joined by many of our awesome friends and family although we missed many of you too.
We had the party at our house in Buckeye from 11:30 - 2pm. When guests arrived, they guessed what the genders would be by picking two colored necklaces (pink or blue). Surprisingly, we had a ton of "2 girl" guesses and not much "2 boy" guesses! It was funny seeing everyone's confidence in their prediction.
Prior to the arrival of any guests, Gabe and I wrapped a huge box in red wrapping paper to keep the theme of "Thing 1 and Thing 2." We blew up about 14 dark blue and 14 light blue balloons to clearly signify that there were indeed having TWO boys. It was quite the process but we had fun working together to complete the ever-so-challenging task of keeping the balloons inside the box. Unfortunately, by the time we were ready to reveal, the balloons had lost their "float" but hey, it makes for a funny story of mom (me) vigorously shaking the box to expel the balloons! :D
It feels so good to speak openly about what we are having now - I have never liked keeping secrets.
After we cleaned up, Gabe and I headed out for our 1-night staycation celebration of the boys...
